A local gunshop has a used tikka 595 target sporter on the rack, im interested in it (asking $650.00 but i was looking at the end of the barrel and it looks as if the bluing stops, theres a slight drop and then an inch of bare metal, like there is supposed to be an accessorie there but isn't, i looked up a bunch of photos of this gun and none of them look this way. is this a barrel design or is somthing wrong? also are these rifles any good?

W.A.:scrutiny:

p.s. it looks as if somthing was removed from the end of the end of the barrel itself, like there was a sleave that fit over the end or somthing

I had a 595 master sporter; it had no doodads hangin off the end of the barrel. I cant imagine what it would be (a weight maybe? or a target front sight?). The fins made several variations of the Tikka 500 series, so if it's not a 595 Master sporter, then I am not familiar with it.:confused:

I have one, and while I don't have any accessories for it I believe that it's a rail so that a hand stop, shooting sling, etc... can be placed on it.

Another M595 Master Sporter owner chiming in;

Walking Arsenal- I'm having a hard time picturing in my head what you mean. My rifle came with nothing on the barrel itself, but a short accessory rail on the left side of the stock near the front for use with a biathlon sling; and another longer accessory rail under the stock for mounting a handstop or similar.

Are saying it looks like something was removed from the end of the barrel?

We need Atek3 to sound off here; he shoots one with custom iron sights, in hi-power competition.

yes, it looks exactly like somthing was removed from the end of the barrel, like there was a 1 or 2 inch sleeve that fit over the end or somthing, this is on the barrel itself right at the muzzel.
