I have this in 25-06 new and I took the barreled action out to adjust the trigger a little lighter. The problem is, the receiver fits so tight and has to be pressed back in and also was hard to pull out.The barrel lug is installed into the stock and with such a tight fit, I can't tell if the lug is in place cause I can't slide it back and forth and feel it pop into place. I finally, banged the stock butt on the floor while holding the barrel and squeezing the action tight into the stock. I think, I heard it pop into place and the action screws went in easily with no effort. A couple attempts before that, the screws went in harder to turn and the barrel was just sticking up way to high so I know that wasn't right. The screw threads still look fine though. Is this tight fit normal? and is there maybe, an easier way to go about reinstalling the barreled action? I just hope it's back in right or it probably won't group worth a crap Also, action screw torque suggestions to start with would be great! Thanks! :)

My experience with the 2 Tikka's I've owned and my brothers is about the same. The tight fit is part of the reason accuracy is better than average for Tikka's. The good news is that you should not have to remove the action from the stock very often.

My main concern was whether or not the lug was seated properly when I put it back together. The action screws went in so easily I guess It's safe to assume the barrel lug is, seated properly? Thanks! :)
