I've ordered one of these in .223 and trying to be patient. This model is a new release in 2022. I'm assuming they are not that much different from the Varmint model, but have some upgraded features like picatinny rail, threaded barrel, cerakote finish, better stock, and 2 stage trigger. I'd like to hear from guys who have experience with the Varmint model with regard to accuracy, especially when subjected to high volume shooting like prairie dogs. I'll appreciate your thoughts about Tikka and this model in particular.

Love my Tikka. I am thinking about another one. I haven't shot a Varmint, but I hear good things over at Sniperhide.

I own, or have owned in the past, standard rifles in 308, 30-06, 6.5CM, as well as a CTR in 308. My brother has a standard 223. Every one of them are exceptionally accurate and I'd expect the Varmint model to be at least as good.

My 308 CTR and standard 308 are mechanically equally accurate. But the heavier CTR is a little easier to steady when shooting.
