This one is going to go down to the wire. We'd probably better get involved and make calls about this one ....

The Senate Judiciary Committee has delayed voting on the nomination of retired federal agent-turned-gun control advocate David Chipman one week, until Thursday, June 24, and during that time, grassroots Second Amendment activists are expected to be flooding Capitol Hill with messages of opposition.

“Between now and next Thursday,” suggested Jason Ouimet, executive director of the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action, “(gun owners) ought to be contacting their Senators. They don’t want a partisan person like David Chipman running ATF.”

Ouimet spoke with AmmoLand News via telephone, expressing alarm that a nominee with Chipman’s background would be considered for the job of running the government’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. NRA has opposed the Chipman nomination from the beginning, stating, “Chipman has a long history of gun control advocacy that disqualifies him from leading the agency charged with enforcing federal gun laws.”

Phone numbers ...

Earlier this week, Gun Owners of America provided an online avenue to oppose Chipman’s nomination. At the same time, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms offered the Capitol switchboard telephone number (202) 224-3121 for gun owners who prefer making a personal call to the offices of their two senators.

Ouimet suggested placing calls and sending messages specifically to members of the Senate Judiciary Committee. The committee’s direct line is (202) 224-7703:

DEMOCRATIC MEMBERS
Patrick Leahy (VT)
Dianne Feinstein (CA)
Sheldon Whitehouse (RI)
Amy Klobuchar (MN)
Christopher A. Coons (DE)
Richard Blumenthal (CT)
Mazie Hirono (HI)
Cory Booker (NJ)
Alex Padilla (CA)
Jon Ossoff (GA)

REPUBLICAN MEMBERS
Lindsey Graham (SC)
John Cornyn (TX)
Michael S. Lee (UT)
Ted Cruz (TX)
Ben Sasse (NE)
Joshua D. Hawley (MO)
Tom Cotton (AR)
John Kennedy (LA)
Thom Tillis (NC)
Marsha Blackburn (TN)

The dem members are some of the worst anti-2Aers of the batch but there are a couple on the Republican list that definitely need calling. Lindsey Graham will be lit-up here in SC, local GOA is already pushing his number out to members and will have people at his Town Hall meetings. (He always plays the "we must play fair" card.)

Cornyn and Sasse cannot be trusted to vote against this guy.

Adding to the drama, Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene this week introduced H.R. 3960, which would abolish the ATF. Text of the legislation was not available when AmmoLand News checked on the measure Friday online.

In a statement quoted by the Washington Examiner, Greene observed, “The ATF’s unconstitutional war on gun owners and our Second Amendment rights must end.”

This will probably come-down to a Kamala Harris vote but who knows.

I would be very surprised to see Chipman confirmed.
Prepare to be shocked if we let this slide and people in states where some of those Democrat senators (on the list above) do not get involved (call those senators) because if it comes-down to a party line vote Harris will be the deciding vote and we are screwed.

Just a fwiw this guy Chipman was in-on Ruby Ridge and Waco .... he is a murdeing zealot, a true deep state big gov brown shirt nazi-type and, if he is voted-in .... imho it will lead-to an action, under his leadership and direction, that will trigger something horrible in this country. Something truly and epically and historically horrible.

This guy is the epitome of evil imho.

Chipman is definitely the wrong guy to run the ATF, but it has been proven he wasn't at Waco. At least, not till after it was over.

The government’s favored tool is fear - if you want to remain free; very, very simple - don’t be afraid.

Fear is a good weapon but ignoring it is not the answer. Trying to keep a level head, accuratly assessing the political stage and the political winds, all play a role. Also, supporting pro 2A organizations of your choice, trying to bring new people into the shooting sports, all play a role too.

The antis have an agenda, and they intend to accomplish it. They will use fear, deceit, and other devious tools to win.
Don't run around in circles pulling out your hair because President Biden just announces a gun confiscation agenda, for sure ....but DO get busy contacting representatives in D. C. and donating to those pro 2A organizations.
