Tips for Buying P3AT?

Before summer gets here, I want to upgrade my P32 to a P3AT. Anything I should pay attention to as far as serial number? What's the going price range on these pistols? My dealer quoted me $259.

$259 is not too bad for a gunshop price on a new one. Make sure you get both magazines, don't let them try to keep one.

$259 isn't outrageous but better deals can be had. I see them from the very low $200s to about $249 around here. $229 - $249 seems to be a common price range reported these days.

Kel-Tec started using an alphanumeric serial number after the first 4,000. The newer ones start with an "H". Don't quite have their system figured out yet, I assume "I" will be next but haven't seen a report of any letter other than an "H".

Really? Cheapos! I could have sworn the P3AT I looked at at the gunshop had two mags....

I'm liking my Autauga more and more all the time....

KTs come with a single magazine. Additional mags are availible for $20 per.

$259 is slightly high now, but not by much. I paid $279 7 months ago, but they are readily availble now for $219 at the local shows. Is it really worth $40 to drive around just looking for the cheapest price? Just buy it. It is the best pocket piece readliy availible.

I agree, if I liked it I would not hesitate to buy it at that price rather than wait for one that MIGHT be at a gunshow for $229. I think some people like to shop around to save a few pennies for the bragging rights more than anything.

Hey wondernine...i too love my autauga...but go get it ported!! I did...just one little hole...and it is hands down more comfortable to shoot.

I've got 2 Autaugas, great little pistol. My P-3AT is replacing it though as my daily carry pistol. I use a front pocket holster for the P-3AT and on some slacks this doesn't work well so I carry the Autauga when I wear those.

BTW. Mine cost $225!!

Most dealers around here are asking about $300.00, or a little more. Know of one dealer that has one for $249.00.

I paid $239 for mine a few months back. Same price they were asking for the P-32's. I got the last one at the time and they were having a hard time getting enough to fill demand. It only comes with one mag. Oh well, at least its a Mec-Gar mag. I could have bought another when I was in there but I wanted to see how it worked first. I need to go back and get another mag if they have them.

Just picked up my second P3AT this past Monday. "Sticker price" was $265. Got it for $230 out the door. Thought I did pretty good....

Why are they less money in other States? They are made here in florida. Talked to a dealer in Kentucky the other day that had them for $220.00. Can't touch them for anywhere near that price around here.
