Tips for first time gun show?

Skip any table with Nazi memorabilia on general principle. You won't miss anything.

The one exception: Working WWII firearms, unaccompanied by any actual flags or daggers, are acceptable.

Only buy if you know that it is a bargain. Lots of junk, "accidentally" mislabeled antiques and collector-grade. Flea market junk mixed in with a few genuine bargains.

I've only bought twice at a gun show, over umpteen years. Once was a NIB target pistol at a solid $100 below retail. I got the chance to buy an original, handmade Dawson knife - I paid $120 - he sells similar knives (He no longer makes the model 101) for $350-$450.

They are a lot of fun. Some shows more than others, depending on the dealers who attend.

I just don't get this. It's not like Hitler is getting a cut of the proceeds. It's history. I don't agree with a lot of things but that doesn't stop me from appreciating the artwork.

As for shows... like others say, know what you want to buy. I usually buy new guns so worrying about a used one isn't normally a problem. It's well worth the few bucks to get in and look around. How any gun nut thinks $7 isn't worth going to a show to at least look is beyond me.
