All,
I have come into a Titan Tiger .38 Special, evidently made in Brazil. Does anyone have any experience with this revolver? Any recommendations on ammo (can it use P+ ammo?), or on getting some new hand grips for it? It appears to be a knock-off of a S&W "J" frame, but I could be mistaken. Any thoughts?

Weihrauch of Germany made the FIE Titan Tiger revolvers.
They also imported the line through European American Armory for a time and may still. While they are a fairly inexpensive line, the frames are made of investment cast steel.

The guns are not in the same league quality wise as Smith and Wesson or, for that matter, Taurus which IMHO makes the gun questionable. The old saying of let the buyer beware certainly pertains here. As to using +P ammo I think that might be a risky proposition, particularly over time if you use a lot of it.

Good luck.:(

DC - thanks greatly. I didn't realize they were German made - I thought they were Brazilian. I'll keep regular-pressure ammo in it. Thanks!

if those are the same ones that are imported thru Miami, my barrel blew off after about 150 rounds. I was using 158grain JHP. Being a little more than upset, I threw the POS into the canal next to the range we were at.

Hmmm - that's not a good sign. Has anyone else had problems with this revolver?
