Walking through a gun show over the weekend, I found a table with a lot of AR-15 uppers and lowers to look through, and decided to pick up a new lower for an orphan 7.62x39 carbine upper that I've been switching back and forth with my Colt HBAR. One of the less expensive lowers was a lone TNW Firearms one, with a 6-position stock and multi-position sling swivel. It was cheaper than the Rock River or Spikes lowers, but seemed to be pretty good quality. It's got a very smooth hard anodized finish, and I understand it's CNC machined out of a forged aluminum billet. Looking around on the 'Net today, I see a lot of lowers listed that are even cheaper, and wonder if I overpayed at $329.
I can't find a comparable TNW lower for sale for a price comparison, does anybody here have any info or experience with them? TNW seems to mostly be known for making semi-auto versions of machine guns and sub-machine guns.
