Cannons in Central Park were recently fired after having been loaded at least 150+ years ago.

and now for the rest of this story... "In theory you could have fired that cannon, because the powder was still working," the NYPD's chief spokesman, Paul J. Browne, told The New York Times.
Wondered when that shoe would drop.............

Well if getting old has an up side, no children at home, leave several guns, all modern, no relics or repros, loaded and handy in several places. Never know when one of these old vets in the retirement community is going to go off their nut....:what::D

Sure, I'll get right on that with my three year old.
never too young to start my boys were about that old when i was out teaching them safety with a bb gun. Daisy 105 lever action which i still have

I can't leave a gun loaded more than a week or two, 'cause its turn to be shot comes around.
But there is one loaded in the house and one loaded in the truck, the kids have been taught safety (gun is always loaded) and to shoot.
Having concealed carry and using it means some times I have a 8" barreled 1860 in the holster under my coat.

I stand corrected, thanks!

I leave my modern in-line loaded (un-primed during storage obviously) during deer season, but that's as long as I'd care to leave it loaded.
