Well, right now all I own is a .500 mag BFR 7.5" and a Thunder Five .45-70/.45lc/.410 (have both cylinders). That's all I have thats even close to being considered a carry weapon.

I don't have the money to drop on a another gun and ammo (unemployed and all prices are up). While it's not very practical, would you even consider carrying either of these? I'm referring to OC of course. I can't see concealing either of these massive (#()#(#% guns. I figure the Thunder Five with .45-70 or .45lc would be the closest practical choice, DA and snub nose... some what.

Sure... why not?
Those are all very effective self defense rounds.
Get a decent shoulder rig and you should be fine :)

I'm at a loss. I turn 21 in june, but thats 2 months away, then up to 3 months after that to get my ccw, so it may be September before I can even cc. Unless someone can recommend a $200 revolver for carry, i'm at a loss right now and it sucks.

The T-5 is HD backup in the nightstand, got a 870 for primary hd

Bill,

From what I remember of Vegas, it's kinda warm there, kinda like it is here in SC. My daily carry here is an NAA BlackWidow in 22 Magnum. Small enough to carry un-noticed in the pocket of my shorts (in a holster) on even the warmest day.

22 Magnum may not be the "ultimate' carry round, but it's plenty nasty, particularly at what would be normal SD ranges (10 feet or less). With careful shopping, you should be able to find an NAA 22 Mag mini revolver for ~$200.

However, I believe your first priority is to get thee employed! That is the best "security" you can have.

Good luck
