I was just watching to catch a predator, and I'm kinda pissed off. Dateline was going through to usual bating of sick perverts with the promise of sex with a minor. Anyway, they were searching one of the petophile's vehicles and they found a list of guns he owns (14 in all). Chris Hanson then says "Turns out he's a gun enthusiast" in a disgusted voice . My question is what does that have to do with anything? He had no guns on him or in his truck when you arrested him? I guess there is something morally wrong with being a gun owner, or owning more than a socially acceptable amount of guns. Maybe the guy collects stamps too, you should've threw that in to. Oh wait people who collect stamps aren't evil like us gun owners.

Imagine! Irresponsible sensationalization on a television documentary in order to boost ratings! That's gotta be a first ...

It's the media. Do you think they'd miss an opportunity to associate guns with evil/bad behavior? It's SOP for them.

I was watching the same show tonight and when they were going through that part of the arrest/booking segment, I was asking exactly the same question. Although the perv was very lucky he was'nt CCW or the whole show probaly would have shifted focus right there.
The guy's a scum and needs to be tried for his crime and locked away. But they certainly did make a point to focus on his gun ownership during his arrest on a totaly unrelated crime for which the show is dedicated. Never saw them mention on any shows that any of the arrested had car, motorcyle, antique paintings or any other type of possesion or collection. Just goes to show that the keepers of the agenda never miss a chance to show private ownership or 2A as a negative force on society. :barf:

Well whenever they get a chance they like to take a cheap shot at gun owners. But at the same time how many times have you seen pro-gun people take a cheap shot at anti-gun people? It happens a lot. So in the end the simple fact is that they control the media and until we dont. However we need to start working on that dont we?
