I've got a Sig 229 black stainless in 9mm that is in immaculate condition. It doesn't have a scratch on it and it stays in its case. I don't carry it, I've got another 229 two tone in .357 that I carry, so it's been taken good care of. I've been offered $500 for it. I've said I would never sell it but I could buy something else with the money and I could always get another 229 9mm later. I would be making a little money on it because I got a good deal on it when I bought it. Sell or keep????

I guess for me, it'd come down to whether or not I want something else specifically more than I want to hold on to the Sig. Then I again, I don't exactly believe in selling any of my firearms in the first place :p

Never sold a gun that I didn't regret selling later. Unless you absolutely dislike the gun or really need the money I say keep it. Look at it as a low-yield investment.

No, I actually love the gun but my only argument to selling it is that I could always buy another 229 in 9mm later. I guess I should keep it though.

Never sell a gun you like...sure you might be able to find another 229 but there's always the risk you might replace a proven performer w/ a lemon ;)

I looked at a used sig 229 in 9mm, a perfect gun, that some dude was asking $800 for the other day. Now I know $800 is way to much but $500 might be on the low side, if you could get around $600 then I would sell it if you do not shoot it and you want something else.

I believe never sell a gun that would be hard to replace, but I do not believe the sig 229 falls in to that category.
