I'm debating on threading my Tikka T3 Hunter. I have a Howa 1500 that I threaded for a can and really enjoy not having my hearing damaged when I shoot 6.5x55. The Tikka is my primary deer rifle and I love it. Just not sure if I want to change it from stock.I'm assuming I won't lose an accuracy, correct? I wonder if the smith can make a thread protector similar to those found on the Swedish Mausers that look like it's not threaded.

If suppressed hunting is legal in your state I'd vote to get it threaded. There often is a POA/POI shift suppressed vs un-suppressed but its rare to see significant changes in group size. Were it not for the hassle and expense of getting a suppressor, I don't understand why anyone in a state where cans are legal for hunting would want to hunt without one.

If you plan on keeping the Tikka and want to hunt suppressed with it, thread away. You might as well configure the rifle how you want it, Tikka's are great rifles, but it's not like they have any kind of collectors value you'd ruin by threading the barrel.
