Today is opening day!

My grandson is 14, completed firearm safety and is firmly ensconced in his tree stand for his first firearm deer hunt in which he can have his own weapon. Hurrah, the next generation of gunnies is well on his way. He missed a nice deer yesterday with his bow. Vows he'll get him today with his rifle.

Just got back. All I seen was three deer to far away to hit with an old 1917 Enfield with iron sights. If only I had my nice deer rifle up here

Three deer isn't bad if you were in Houghton county. Too bad they were too far away.

Only saw one in Genesee county yesterday.... He was headin' South like his tail was on fire, and was 200+ yards away. Sigh....... Hoping for better luck tonight after work, but the weather still doesn't seem to want to cooperate yet.
