Today the mailman dropped off my newest knife, the All About Pocket Knives 2010 forum knife. This year they choose the trapper pattern and the knives were made by Great Eastern Cutlery (GEC). The specs are....
Clip point master blade & spey secondary blade made with 1095 high carbon steel.
Eye-catching cut swedge on each of the satin finished blades complete with half stops.
Top grade oiled interior cut ram's horn handle material.
Handsomely lined & dimpled nickel silver bolsters.
All About Pocket Knives " etch on the mark side of the master blade.
Custom AAPK tang stamp on mark side of clip point blade & reverse side of spey blade.
"2010" tang stamped on mark side of the spey blade.
Custom AAPK nickel silver shield that is pinned through to the liner.
Exclusive AAPK Ltd. Edition - 100 pieces made with interior ram's horn.
The trapper pattern has a long history in the US, designed for fur trapper it featured a clip blade for general use as well as a spey blade that was ideal for skinning. The interior rams horn used on this doesn't show up well in the photos, it is an oily translucent material that feels warm in the hand and very velvety to the touch.
This one will take it's place with my other trapper, some of which are shown below. It has near perfect walk and talk, a balance between being a nail breaker and having great snap. I think it will become one of my favorite trappers to EDC.
