Ok, seriously, I am thinking a Beretta Tomcat in .32 acp or an NAA Guardian in .32 or .380, but the Tomcat costs less and holds 7+1 rounds vs 6+1 rounds. I am posting this thread because I am looking for a new mouse gun. I had a Taurus PT-22, but it became unreliable in my mind (by that I mean that it worked fine but I just didn't feel secure with it as my primary "on the go" gun) and traded it for a S&W 22LR J-frame.

So, does anyone out there have any extensive experience with the Tomcat? If you have real world experience with the Guardian feel free to jump in, but I really wanna know about the Tomcat becasue I do not have ANY experience with Beretta's gun except for fondling them at the gunshop.
 
The guardian in .32ACP is considerably smaller than the Tomcat, which makes a big difference for me.

The only Beretta BUG that I have owned was a 950BS in .25ACP, which was a high quality little gun.

Their both to heavy, to wide ,and have terrible triggers. Get a pocket gun a KelTec. Small light accurate in 32 or 380. Also cost a lot less. I have 3 2in 32 and a 380 ALL GEN 2 ALL HAVE BEEN FLAWLESS.

So KelTecs have better triggers???:what:

The Guardian is thinner than the bulbous Tomcat. Both are heavier than a KelTec if a few ounces are a big consideration to you. My guardian is a daily carry in the back pocket but I will say that I had to return it to the factory for ramp work to make it feed reliably.
 
Gun Tests Magazine recently tested thr NAA .380 and found it unacceptable. The accuracy was very poor and they had a lot of keyholing when the bullets hit the target. When I looked at one, the trigger was almost a two finger pull, very high pull weight. I ended up with the Kel-Tec .380 because i don't trust a .32 to get the job done, tho a friend has the Beretta .32 and likes it very well.
 
Seecamp LWS .32ACP (or .380ACP if you must)...small, light, always there (if you want it to be)...not much of an intimidator BUT that's not what a firearm is all about anyway...

I recently purchased a NAA Guardian in .32 ACP---USED. I love the lil gun-it is more accurate than it has any right to be. The trigger is a little heavy but smooth and quite managable. It is a very good 'always' gun and rides in my right front pocket whether I have a bigger CCW on board or not.

Now, when I got it (used, remember), when fired, it would drop the mag. Sent it back. They told me it was an 'old' one, replaced over $200 worth of parts (fixed the problem) and sent it back. Charge = ZERO! I'll take that kind of warranty ANY DAY!

It now runs perfectly.

Of course, it is not a .454 so I do not expect it to be a 'one shot obliterates all opponents instantly' firearm. If it needs to be used, it won't be a double tap. I'll be headed for slide lock.

I consider it a top notch backup and a CCW when you REALLY don't want to be 'made'.
 
I had an NAA .380 Guardian for 1 week. Had absolutely no problems with the function or feel of the gun. I wanted to like it. I just could not get used to the weight. Felt like a brick in my pocket. Ended up getting rid of it, and got a S&W 642.
 
I had both a Tomcat and a Gaurdian, but ended up with a P-3AT that works better for me than the Tomcats and Gaurdians.

Here's my experience:

I had a new Taurus PT22 when they were first released.. It was a POS.

I had a new Tomcat (32cal) when they were first released, and it too was a POS.. And, Beretta Customer Service sucks worse than that 1st series Tomcat. I don't know anything about the "improved" Tomcats..

I have a KelTec P32, and it has been 100% reliable and accurate at self defense range. I would recommend it. In fact my wife has confiscated it for herself.

I have a 1st series NAA Guardian. When new (it's an "AA" series) it had problems, I sent it back to NAA, problems were fixed, no charge, and it came back accurate and reliable w/ a free mag. for my trouble. I'll be the first to admit the Guardian "looks" more like a quality product, but doesn't shoot any better (or worse) than the less expensive, lighter KelTec.

My opinion is I would pass on the Beretta if for no other reason than in my experience Beretta Customer Service is t e r r i b l e...

KelTec and NAA have a fantastic Customer Service policy, and I think either pistol would serve you well.

Some trolls will be around (KQ or Fowler) knocking KelTecs shortly, but my P32, and my 9mm P11 have both been 100% reliable and self defense accurate. I am quite happy carrying my NAA Guardian in a DeSantis Trickster wallet holster, so IMO either pistol would do the job for you.

If you have the misfortunate to get a "bad" Keltec, or Guardian you can rest assured that the parent company will indeed correct the problem,free,forever, and you will have a good pistol before it's over.

Noticed several posted here had trouble with you over weight NAA. Gun test mag doesn't lke either .Keyholeing trouble .I used to read that a lot on NAA board along with other people complaints. The very gun you love Broke and you had to send back to factory. So get off the KT bashing and let the people hear from all the many many happy owners Stop posting out dated info. To try to support you bashing.
You do nothing but bash KT and Seecamps. Go find a real job. Most people are tired of your crying Myself I just:barf: when I see you name
 
I have a Tomcat and its worked fine for me, you have to find ammo that it likes but once I did, I have not a had one problem. I liked it so much I bought a Beretta mod 21A in 22LR just to have as well.

One thing I have noticed is that when dealing with mouse guns you will find a lot more people that hate certain brands then you will find in full size guns.
 
I have the Tomcat in Inox (stainless) and mine works great. I have no complaints at all.
