I shot my Springfield Armory Loaded Stainless .45acp tonight. It has a C-More reddot sight on it, and use my handloads of a 200gr LSWC over 4.5gr WST.
I still haven't broken 800 with it yet, but tonight I did shoot a 793. Sooo close!
I saw a major improvement by not drinking anything with caffein after lunch. My wobble really settled down.
I did change one thing I was doing. I was trying to get the dot settled on the middle of the target then start squeezing the trigger. Tonight I started squeezing the trigger while trying to hold the dot on target. It's a subtle difference, but it worked. this was my highest centerfire/.45 score yet. My past best was a 777.
We will start running out of daylight soon. I hope we have enough light for 3 more matches before we have to cease matches for the year. My new goal is to break 800 with the .22, .45 and the .45 as centerfire all on a single match scoresheet! I have broken 800 twice with my .22- an 823 and an 824.

Good for you..almost 90%.

Three gun Outdoor Pistol is a demanding dicipline, be it a 900 or a 2700 with NBPRP 'Leg' Match on the final day.

At one time I thought 10 meter matches was kinda 'wussified'. T'aint so. Consider 10 Meter Indoor Air Pistol...no wind, no brass to pick up, no hot brass down your collar, and no reloading/casting concerns.

Nothing but sight alignment, trigger control, and follow through.

It too is a tough dicipline. When the goal is repeatable delivery of successive hits into an area about the size of a pencil eraser at 33 feet, it can get as elusive and frustrating as the 10 ring 50 yards.

It might be something worth you time to consider. If nothing else, its cheap practice and bets dry fire all to helenandgone.

I am not a current competitor in Outdoor or Indoor Competition and my perceptions are dated by at least 15 years, so you might want to consider my opinions with more than a grain or two of salt.

salty.

Congrats. I, too, had a personal best on Sunday past with the .22

Also, for whatever reason I was really calm. (Maybe picture perfect day had something to do with it), and the normal 'wobble' was reduced.

No coffee for me either on match days. On match evenings, when I have had coffee at work, or, maybe stress of a long day to boot, I notice a lot more shake and wobble than first thing in the morning with no coffee.

Congrats and keep up the good work

Great recommendation. About a year ago I set up a 10m air pistol range in my basement, got a Steyr LP50, and set it up as closely as possible to feel like the Walther GSP I use in Gallery B/E competition. I conservatively estimate that it's been responsible for adding about 10 points to my B/E league average.
