I spotted a tiny vinal decal on my out of an establishment just because I picked a different exit door than the one I came in and turned aroud to hold the door. Not laminated card stock, pictogram not 8"x6", not 3/4" type. I've seen everything from B&W zeroxes to very fancy plastic and metal signs. At one non-liquor licencee with the fancy plastic sign I told the head of security and he argued with me and said the signs were provided by the Chandler police Department. I also see them on places with no liquor licence all the time (and when I do I take the pesuant to 4-229 litterally :) ).

Only once did I ever spot a conforming sign at the door and it was missing next to the liquor licence!

Has anyone actually spotted a valid conforming ARS 4-429 sign posted correctly?

Maybe shop owners are doing it on purpose. Makes the anti-gunners feel safe while allowing pro-gunners that CWC to legally enter.

Same thing in Kansas. We see many, many "no carry" signs where the sign itself does not conform to statute, or it is placed in a manner that does not conform. I even see this in courthouses where they certainly have a legal staff that you'd think could read the laws. Some here do believe that the non-conforming signs may be on purpose as you suggest. Here, though, recent changes in our laws have eliminated any criminal penalty for carrying past a sign, even if it conforms, so many probably just don't worry about it anymore.

(Im referring to proper No Guns signs in general... not just at a place that serves alcohol.)

Ive seen 2.

1 at a restaurant at the Scottsdale mall.

The funny part is that they have an outdoor patio area too. The 1st, and only, time I went, there was a line at the front door. The person told me a 20?min wait for inside or no wait for the patio; I chose outside.

I was walked into the patio area through a small waist high gate from outside the restaurant. No sign was posted. As I paid and left through the main entrance, I saw the proper signs. Just to double check, I walked back over to the small gate I was lead through originally to the patio.... I was right, no sign was posted.

The other correct sign I saw was at a police station.

I recently posted that I went into a bank and there where no signs posted until I got all the way up to the teller window. Next to the teller window (no bullet proof glass or anything like that) was hand written sign on the back of a 3"x5" small note pad that said "No Guns", in ball point pen, not even in sharpie. It was during snowbird season.

Just about any sign (except non-sensical ones that refer to ARS 4-229) carry the same force of law (misdemeanor tresspass--don't loose gun rights or CC) if a place does not have a liquor licence. If the place has a liquor licence the proper sign must be posted at entrance(s) AND next to the licence. I've never seen that but found the correct sign at the entrance.

I don't tend to frequent such places but won't cause a fuss when another chooses the place.

My advice, don't say a word to anyone who has a non-conforming sign... I see no problem here whatsoever, now if y'all start seeing more and more valid/proper signage, then there is a problem.

I agree. The one time I mentioned it I had a long-term relationship with the establishment.

Here in the Tucson metro area it's a rare thing to see any signs. Those that I have seen have been small, difficult to notice, with about the only exception being Cosco. I refuse to darken the door step of an establishment that refuses to allow me to carry.

As for banks and credit unions, all the one's I've ever been to in Tucson, Phoenix, Flagstaff, and Yuma have no signs posted. Even those of which I know have been robbed multiple times don't have postings.

Maybe I just get lucky and either don't notice them, or I'm just fortunate enough to not pick business's that prohibit?

The only correct sign that I’ve seen is at the entrance to the PV public library that also has a security guard and metal detectors. A few hand made ones showed up after the Giffords incident. But since even the statutory signs carry the same legal authority as “No shirt, No shoes, No service” sings, I personally don’t pay a lot of attention to them.

The key in Arizona is to get out of the major cities. Then you start seeing signs like these on stores:
