My oldest daughter's boyfriend was in town for the weekend and they both expressed an interest in pistol shooting. Before She met him She never had much interest in firearms. He hunts but has no expierience with handguns. He is studying criminal justice with the intention of becoming a Police officer.

He wanted to shoot "police guns". Since neither had shot pistols before, I gathered a collection of revolvers and autos in calibers from .22 to .45.

We had a blast. Started with the .22 revolver and worked up from there. Had an oppertunity to demonstrate the difference between single and double action, multiple designs, etc.

They both shot .22, .32, .38, .357, 9mm, 10mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP.

The best news........

She's a better shot them Him!! :D

''Proud Papa'' .......... hey .. great isn't it ....... another job well done. Looks like you took em thru the whole gamut of cals.

True enough ... on average - newbie gals do outshoot the guys. My daughter, who admittedly was brought up with shooting .... knocks the crap out of her old man when she's here visiting and we go to the range .... always makes me proud!

In fact ... as I haven't posted it in a while .. here she is last year doing great with my P97 ...... another six weeks and she'll be visiting again and .... we'll see if she likes my BFR!?? :D (perhaps!)

Nice ear protection the guy at the table has :D.

I think the reason new women shooters do better than men is their apprehension to pull the trigger. As a result, they don't jerk it like new men shooters tend to do. Must be a macho thing imbedded in our genes (or jeans). ;)

We run a basic firearms class on Saturdays at the range I work at. From what I see, every new woman shooter outshoots the men newbies. I'm sure its not the extra "hands on" instruction they get from our instructor .......
or is it..........hmmmm :scrutiny:

Nothing to prove might be the answer as well as a tendency to follow instructions. Women listen and ask the appropriate questions. The fellows I have taken to the range have seem to feel they can do it sans instruction.
Just an observation on my part and not in any way scientific!;)

P95, my bad-concience demands that I make snide comments about your daughter's appearance... So, while my good conscience was force feeding him his own bat-like wings, he told me to say that you have a beautiful daughter. :)
