Thanks to all who recommended this pistol. It now sits at the top of my list of favorites. Can't wait to get back to the range. Now, I don't have anything really "new" to say, but I want to confirm that this is one sweet shooting pistol. If you are thinking about getting one, I happily give it my enthusiastic recommendation.

Had a great time with it, and my friend who is very very picky (if not snobbish about his Sig and his HK) was quite impressed. I practically had to take it away from him.

I've really only done much shooting with my old Colt .45 ACP, so the DA trigger will need more time for me to adjust to. The SA was very nice, just a small bit of creep, but crisp break at about 4 lbs.

14 round mags are great (ditto the included mag loader).

Muzzle flip and felt recoil was minimal. Target re-acquistion is very quick. The range is a little dark at the firing line and the low visibility sights on the CZ made quite a difference over the Colt's plain sights.

Shot 85 rounds of WWB, no failures of any kind.

Accuracy was good. Shooting the gun was very comfortable, and I felt a high degree of confidence in the gun.

Overall, I give it an A+. I discovered CZ while viewing this and a couple of other forums, and had high expectations from what I read. The CZ P-01 lived up to those expectations, and more. There were a couple of other pistols that were on my short list. I am completely happy with my choice!

Cheers!

Relayer, thanks for the report. It's good to hear the P-01 lived up to your expectations. I mentioned before, my first trip to the range with my new P-01 was last weekend and I got the best groups ever out of a gun in that size range.

I've got a variety of other guns (Glock, Springfield XD, SIG, Kahr, Walther, and Kel Tec) all of which I like. This CZ may have moved to the top of my list though, it was a blast to shoot, very accurate, and I only put 150 rounds through it but it was flawless.

One thing is for sure, considering the price, it is definately a good value. ---- Glad to hear you enjoyed yours so much. Are you going to carry it?

Congratulations on your purchase! You will continue to be very happy with this gun.

I "rediscovered" my P-01 today after focussing on other guns for the last year of so. I brought it to the 15 yard line and shot two of the best groups I have ever done with a centerfire pistol at that distance. Both five shot clusters were under one inch center to center, with the gun fired two-handed, unsupported. The ammo was Sellier & Bellot, 115 grain. Thirty additional rounds made a ragged 2"x3" hole in the ten ring of a 25 yard NRA slow fire target. This is the internet, so my good word is worth as much as the bytes that comprise it. Suffice it to say, for a compact 9mm combat pistol, the P01 is very accurate.

Amazingly, few non-Highroader shooters have even heard of CZ. The shop I ordered it from where perplexed as to why I was spending good money on a non-Sig. Maybe the anonymity will keep the price down.

CZ Compact

CZ's are my favorite semi; I can't understand why they aren't the most popular guns around. I prefer the 75B Compact because of its cocked and locked capabilty - you get that nice SA pull for every shot.

great deal..glad the CZ was a hit..

I have always liked CZs..and was finally able to get a couple this year...

got a 75b and an SP01, both in 9mm..I have got about 500 rounds through each and both have been flawless..both are very accurate.

CZ's are the best value in guns on the market. You can spend more money for a gun, but you won't get more gun for your money.

revjross, I think I will carry the P-01. Checking out leather as we speak.

I do love this pistol, so far. And I don't expect that to change. It is sweet. Take down and clean up, a breeze.

Now I've got my eye on the 75B, too.

Again, I'm grateful for reading this board because I never would have given CZ a second glance, most likely.

Cheers!

Relayer, I carry my PCR in an Aker OWB holster # 168-A. It's for a SIG P-225 but it fits perfectly. Might make your search a little easier. Good luck.

When checking out leather for the CZ, lots of makers have started making them.
Check around and see the maker/s you like.

Glad you like the PO1.......I carry one and a CZ40B. Nice gun.......very nice.

Shoot well.

Get an HBE rig for your little Czech friend! Great gun leather for a great price.
Then get Hakan grips, too....
I love my PO1, best dadgum pistol I ever found!

Thank you - those are the Extreme style in Zebrawood with brass grip screws from GaryinPennsylvania.
This is the wife's CZ2075 RAMI 9mm with her Hakans!
