Its been a long week, waiting to get my new P-01 to the range.

My son and I took my 75B, the P-01 and a Bersa Thunder 380. As expected, the P-01 digested everything we put into it. It cycled cleanly, and followup shots were easily brought back onto the target.

I shot one-handed, two-handed aimed isoceles and two-hand point shooting. I shot singles and double taps.

The accuracy with Winchester white box from Wallyworld (115 grain) was acceptable, but not stellar. However, with some handloaded 124 grain LRN, the groups were awesome, coming in at 1 inch at ten yards (magazine resting on the bench - no sandbags).

This was accomplished with stock springs and a stock trigger. I just dry fired a few hundred times while watching the tube this week.

As a general rule, the CZ 75B is more accurate than most stock service pistols on the market. However, I feel the P-01, despite its shorter barrel, is more accurate than the 75B. As with most CZs, the ergonomics on the P-01 are a dream.

On my next visit to the range, I'll be shooting hollowpoints, to get an idea how they'll feed, as I intend to use the P-01 as my primary carry pistol. The Bersa Thunder 380, which is a drop-dead reliable pistol, is my alternate carry piece. :D

While cleaning the two pistols, I noticed that the 75B's trigger is waaay smoother, no doubt a function of many rounds through the action.

I can't wait to experience the P-01's after the trigger after a few thousand rounds smooths it out. Maybe some IDPA or Speed Steel later this summer.

Awesome, thanks for your post! I was looking at a Sig 226 for my next pistol, but the more I read about the CZs the more I like them. Almost everyone seems to agree that they are accurate and extremely comfortable when held. It's great that you have both a 75B and a P01, because those are the two that caught my eye the most! I know the 75B has a reputation for accuracy, while everyone with a P01 seems to love it and it's more concealable. As you said, the barrel is significantly shorter and I wondered if it would affect accuracy in a negative way; I'm glad to hear that you think it doesn't.

One question: does the P01 have three dot sights like the 75B?
