I'm new to guns and I don't yet have my own copy of "Blue Book to Gun Values" price guide. I was wondering what the "Blue Book of Gun Values" says are the top 10 most valuable guns of all time are. Maybe there is a preface near the front or back of the book that says what they are. If someone could check for me in their blue book I would appreciate it. Or maybe someone already knows what they are by heart and would be kind enough to share them here with the rest of us complete with values. I would be interested to know what they are. If not, maybe we could start a list and compile them here in this thread.
Thanks

Included in there would be:

* SAA #1 (recently went at auction
* The gun that shot King Ferdinand
* The gun that shot Lincoln
* Gen. Patton's SAA

And on the lighter side

* All ten thousand of Hitler's personal side arms
* The guns on the gun show tables

I'm thinking more along the lines of extremely high quality, very desirable guns to own in and of themselves, not guns owned by famous people or guns used to commit famous crimes or what have you.

You mean the most valuable non-custom commercially produced firearms, is that what you are referring too?

Because your original questions is "whats most valuable" and predictably, those are things with serial number 1, or were owned by, or shot, someone historical.

There are numerous examples of "assmebly line" firearms that you can buy that are made today that are well into 10K range.

If you go to and english/scottish/italian maker, the sky is the limit, 100K can easily be spent on a single rifle or shotgun.

History Channel did a episode called "Million Dollar Guns".....some worth much much more.

- Serial #1, Colt SAA
- Pistols for Catherine the Great.
- 17th century dueling pistols with stocks made of Ivory
- Sultan of Turkey Colts
- Gold pocket pistol once owned by Adolph Hitler.
- Colt SAA made for Sears Roebuck
- 45ACP Luger
- Pistol that shot Lincoln
