I had a Daewoo DP 51 before I knew anything about semiauto guns. It slams home a round when you bang the clip in. I always just figured it was supposed to do that. Maybe I should get it checked.

I would just like to know what kind of person would ask for someone to place the muzzle of a shotgun on their scrotum and pull the trigger...I don't care if I, as well as 50 of my closest friends and family triple checked the chamber...What would be "fun" about this?

"Ya can't fix stupid."

Actually, it sounds like he did get "fixed";) pretty good to me!

Here in Minneapolis about a week ago some troublemaker teenagers were playing with a revolver. They unloaded it and played Russian Roulette with the empty gun. Later that night someone loaded the gun and, you guessed it, someone who didn't know the gun had been loaded grabbed the gun, put it to a friends head and pulled the trigger. The kid is dead and several others will go to jail for a long time.

Thats a good way to insure that those swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool can't conceive more idiots.

From my understanding that rifle utilizes magazines and not clips.

That might be the problem.

No. 1 way to get shot by your own gun? Deliberate pre-meditated Suicide.

Sheer unadulterated STUPIDITY pretty much covers all the rest.

Even if the gun won't fire, all that comes to mind when I look at this picture is :what: :what: :what: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

tell me the hazard here? gonna poke out his eye with the barrel? the dust cover and bolt assembly is out of the gun. NOT GONNA FIRE!!! have you never checked a bore? I am not saying it is the best way but it is acceptable.

Finally, THE WINNER!!!: [Arkansas Democrat Gazette]:
Two local men were injured when their pickup truck left the road and struck a tree near Cotton Patch on State Highway 38 early Monday. Woodruff County deputy Dovey Snyder reported the accident shortly after midnight Monday. Thurston Poole, 33, of Des Arc, and Billy Ray Wallis,
38, of Little Rock, were returning to Des Arc after a frog catching trip. On an overcast Sunday night, Pooles pickup truck headlights malfunctioned. The two men concluded that the headlight fuse on the older-model truck had burned out. As a replacement fuse was not available, Wallis noticed that the .22 caliber bullets from his pistol fit perfectly into the fuse box next to the steerin g-wheel column. Upon inserting the bullet the headlights again began to operate properly, and the two men proceeded on eastbound toward the White River Bridge. After Traveling Approximately 20 miles, and just before crossing the river, the bullet apparently overheated, discharged, and struck Poole in the testicles. The vehicle swerved sharply right, exiting the pavement, and striking a tree Poole suffered only minor cuts and abrasions from the accident but will require extensive surgery to repair the damage to his testicles, which will never operate as intended. Wallis sustained a broken clavicle and was treated and released. "Thank God we weren't on that bridge when Thurston shot his balls off, or we might both be dead," stated Wallis " I've been a trooper for 10 years in this part of the world, but this is a first for me. I can't believe that those two would admit how this accident happened," said Snyder. Upon being notified of the wreck, Lavinia (Poole's wife) asked how many frogs the boys had caught and did anyone get them from the truck???

Um. I believe I stated that it wasn't going to fire. But if you're comfortable looking down the receiving end of a barrel, then have fun.

LOL, I recently got shouted down in a thread for saying that 1911 with the slide locked back was not subject to "muzzle sweeping" rules.

a barrel on a gun with the fireing portion removed is nothing more than a pipe mounted on a piece of wood/plastic. Sure a gun should always be respected. That said, there are just some gun formats in which it is easier to ispect the bore from the muzzle end.. the ak is one such firearm. even with the dust cover and bolt assembly removed you cannot see full bore without looking from well behind the butt of the gun. The same is true of most semi-autos.

You forgot the one where the guy checked to see if his muzzleloading rifle was loaded by looking down the barrel...

...using a struck match as the light source. It was loaded.

What goes thru peoples' minds when they do this stuff?!?

I see idiots on TV do things that any normal person would know will most likely result in maiming or worse. At the very least, most of the resultant "accidents" will cost their parents buku dinaro at the hospital.

John Wayne, you forgot improperly. It was loaded improperly. The patch/sabot should be so tight against the bore that no spark could get past it to ignite the powder.

OK...

A guy looking down the barrel of an AK with no dust cover and no bolt assembly.

Just for the sake of argument which of the 4 rules is the guy violating?

Think before you answer...

Myth Busters tested the 22 in the fuse box. The cartridge could go off, but if it does it is unlikely to do much damage. I used to hit 22s with a hammer when I was a kid and the don't hurt you. If you throw them in a fire they won't shoot you either. I tossed a couple 9mm in a fire and my brother in law **** a brick. After they went off he was fine with it.
