Back to the topic at hand...

IMO the top 5 BCGs based on materials used, coatings, innovation, and general quality (fit & finish, if you like) in no particular order

Sharps Rifle Company XPB
Geissele Reliability Enhanced BCG
Daniel Defense Chrome BCG
Cryptic Coatings Mystic Black (Toolcraft)
Lantac Enhanced BCG

Honorable Mentions
Microbest Chrome BCG
Rubber City Armory Nitride BCG
Adam's Arms DI Integrated Gas Key/Lifecoat BCG
CMC Enhanced BCG
Radian Weapons Enhanced BCG

I like Alex Arms BCG's-they are made over d2wings way, in Alexandria, MN. I bought a nickel boron one on sale for what most nitride ones run, and was impressed. I will use them for builds going forward.
I didn't know that. There are a few suppliers from DPMS days around. Alex is a ways from where I live now but a nice town. I spent a couple summers there.

I just got a email link with a pretty good deal on a geissele BCG for $110. Are they any good, any of you guys use a geissele
Anything Bill sells is quality product. I don't have a BCG of his, but do have two handguards and a trigger.

Only two BCG's I have is a NiB Aim Surplus for my 300BLK, and an Odin Works for my Grendel. The Aim Surplus wipes clean with a damp rag, it's amazing. Neither BCG has given me any issues.

I agree, Geissele makes the best triggers of the few different ones I've tried, I think quality is an obsession of his from what I've seen of his videos and products. I was surpised however when an arfcommer posted a really horrendous finished lower he sent out and would not take a return on it. It was bad.

There were a couple other lil things too that had shook me up about his QC and general attitude about it but I guess it's just the nature of business, do it long enough and there will eventually be an oversight and your workload or personal stuff may not endear you to give a crap about it. You just always hope you aren't that person and by and large his customers seem pretty happy.... I know I am

I'd want to hear Bill's side before passing judgment. I've spoken with him a few times by phone, he was very helpful with his advice when I built my AR's. His brother is an orthopedic spine surgeon that I worked with for over 20 years before I retired (I was an O.R. Nurse), and one day we (Al, his brother) were talking guns and I mentioned I was getting ready to build an AR. I had heard of Geissele triggers but didn't realize they were related. When I said I needed to order a handguard for my Grendel, Al asked me which one did I want, and was pulling out his phone to make a call. He called Bill, and told him about me and what I was doing, which rail I wanted. Two days later at work, he handed me a small package. When I opened it, the rail I wanted was in the box. I tried to pay him (Bill) for it, but Al told me he'd taken care of it. I later talked to Bill, thanking him and asking for a bit of guidance, and came away with his National Match DMR trigger (which I DID pay for). I bought a second handguard for my 300BLK from him. The trigger is fantastic, cleanest break I've ever felt.

Wow that's a pretty amazing coincidence, working with the brother and all... unfortunately the arfcommer posted a screenshot of Bill's response about the lower and it was in esscense more or less "I know that it might not look good aesthetically but from a functionality standpoint it wont affect it, sometimes they just come out of the forge that way, so on and so fourth etc...."

Not really acceptable IMO, when you pay for Geissele, Larue, Wilson, Les Baer etc... it is for that extra attention to detail and improved aesthetics, and you pay alot for it honestly. Imo Bill should have taken it back and exchanged it.

Bill is probably usually great, I'm sure he strives to provide the best products and service and succeed most of the time, but on this one he kinda dropped the ball. It happens.

It's just the way business is sometimes, sometimes you draw the short stick. My buddy and I owned the same exact identical knife from the same company and both of our blades cracked in the same exact spot by the tang pin, this company is renowned for excellent customer service. Anyway, my buddy addressed the issue with his knife first and they replaced the blade free of charge and when he asked them to re anodized it they said no problem.

I then, in the exact same situation as my friend, sent my knife in for warranty repair and asked them to re anodized as well. Long story short they replaced my blade but told me no on the re ano. I was happy with my blade replacement and dont hold it against them but you probably see what I'm getting at. Some people get the extra mile in terms of service and sometimes you just get the brush off. Alot of good companies can be guilty of this from time to time....

I got my Geissele BCG in the mail, I don't have gauges or anything but it looks like top quality. I can barely make out any machining marks on it, very smooth. Definitely just the feel of it is better than my PSA's. Ejector spring is very strong compared to my others that feel weaker in comparison. At $110 I wish I'd bought a few of them
