Total Teardown?

I was taught back in the 60's to take apart and clean B/P guns, got into modern guns and finally back into B/P a decade or so again. I was doing it the old way and after 2 to 3 hrs at the range, I would spend 5 or more hrs cleaning. After much reading I decided to do the Ballistol and simply remove the grips on pistols and soak, rinse thoroughly and oil, I also packed the internal areas with red grease(once a year). I did this for a year and them took apart my guns after a range session, after wiping off the now black grease, the internal area was totally free of rust or pits, so this is my new method, much less time cleaning and more shooting.

Woodnbow, it's more than likely Mobile 1 bearing grease. I've been packing the frames of C&B revolvers with it for a good while. Seems to do a great job (hot or cold) at keeping the fouling out and the action protected.

Yeeeuup, that's about it. Most of these guns aren't complicated (and I say this even though I'm not smart enough to figure out how they get all the necessary vacuum tubes into my Samsung tablet to make it work .....)
Taking apart a BP revolver to clean is kind of relaxing and therapeutic. Electronics are not, I have found that throwing a printer in the outdoor wood boiler can be a stress reliever.
