I've setup a simple, streamlined site for tracking self defense stories in the news.

Hopefully this will turn into a great place to send people who ask questions like "Why would you ever need a gun?" or "Who ever really uses a gun to defend themselves?"

Anyone can submit a story.

I know it's not the first site of this kind, but I've got it setup in such a way that it's extremely quick and easy for me to manage. I've also hopefully minimized copyright issues with this setup.

Today's updates share a common theme. Stories of children who successfully defended themselves and others using firearms.

And people say children should never be exposed to firearms.

Added several new stories.

Also put together a collection of stories where people who otherwise would not be able to defend themselves due to physical limitations successfully defended themselves, their families and their homes using firearms.

If anyone thinks stricter gun laws are a good idea, please let these folks know that they should just accept being SOL next time something happens.

Well after reading over 275 of these stories in about 2.5 months I'm starting to see some trends and I'm putting those together in the form of an article.

1. Guns are an amazing force equalizer.
What does this mean? It means that guns are an amazing tool that allows a 5′ tall, 90lb person to respond with the force needed to fight off multiple 6′ 3″, 250lb men.

I run across numerous stories of the elderly, petite women, and children using firearms to fight off groups of grown men. Without guns would they have even had a chance? Would a child be able to wield pepper spray or a stun gun with the same ease as a firearm and get the same results?
