Trade an XD for a Ruger Blackhawk

Hey guys, I have an XD-40 V10 (ported model) that I bought on a whim several years ago. I enjoyed it at first and love to see the flames come out of it, but the muzzle blast is rather unpleasant so I rarely shoot it anymore. I have the opportunity to trade it + $100 for a LNIB Ruger NM Blackhawk with 4-5/8" barrel in 41Mag (my favorite caliber). What does everyone think?
 
I would do it.

The fact that 41 mag is your favorite cal sweetens the deal.
 
If you think that the muzzle blast is rather unpleasant from a .40, what do you think it will be like out of a short barrel .41 Magnum that burns twice as much powder?

4 5/8" ain't no snubbie, and 41 mag ain't no 454
flame factor and feel in hand ain't necessarily the one and same, I dunno just what he means..
BUT says he likes 41 mag (favorite) so it's not like a brand new thing for him
(I dunno of any 41 mag autoloaders off hand, but somebody here probably does)
it's not like 40S&W is whisper quiet, ported or not

I can't call that shot
but if 41 mag was my favorite, I wouldn't have to even ask
(40S&W apparently ain't his favorite, that's a fair enough clue, no matter why)

After looking up your XD contraption....by all means, "trade like the wind"! That thing is ugly! Why would anybody make a gun that looks like a Glock??? Your way better off with a .41 mag... A real self defense weapon against 2 and 4 legged creatures.
 
The muzzle blast from that ported 40 and how it smacks you in the face doesn't comPare to any 41 mag, 45LC, 44mag I've ever shot from a revolver. I'll never own a ported weapon again. It's just a sharp Pressure wave and gives me a headache after a few mags worth. I've never ever had any handgun do that to me before.
 
Well, whatta ya think of the 41? You ain't swapped yet? Must not want it too bad. If I wanted it like you surmised, I'd have been on it like a rat on a Cheeto!

Well, not only did I make like a rat on a cheeto, I made like a rat on 2 cheetos. Yep, bought the 41 mag and put an identical blackhawk in 45LC on layaway with the instore credit I got on the XD! They just got the 45LC in today. I love blackhawks!!
 
You've crossed over from the dark side...Congratulations!! Plastic to steel is always a trade in the right direction.
 
Ha. I've always Been a steel guy. That XD is the only polymer auto I own besides a walther P22. I've got ruger mk II, mk iii, single six, bisley, etc. Also own 2 1911's, sig p238, etc. All steel. Never really fell in love with the dark side. Now I just need to find some nice wood grips for them....
