I have owned my C.A.I FAL/L1A1 for over 3 months. It is a C.A.I. receiver with W feeding ramp and Enfield barrel and lower receiver. It shoots and feeds .308 reliably but the accuracy is simply way off. With a 12 x 40 scope, I am getting a 12 inch group with a few totally off shots from time to time at 100 yards. The barrel is not timed right, plus the threaded barrel was neutered due to post-ban configuration. I own a M1A and a 20'' AR15, and really, I have no need for FAL except to waste my precious surplus .308 ammo.
Today, I just got so frustrated with its inaccuracy, and trade it in for a brand new in the box Browning Hi-Power Mark III for a total $800 (729 + tax). An even trade, I only paid 10 dollars for background check.
I paid about the same for that FAL along with all the accessory. I felt I got a fair deal... Unfortunately, the Hi-Power is matt epoxy-finished... I was hoping for a blued polish finish... oh, well... At least, I got my money's worth.
Will my Hi-Power Mk III out perform my 1915 Luger (see my other post)? I am getting 2 inch grouping at 25 yards with my luger. Can the Mk III do the same?
I couldn't go to the range until this weekend, so any inputs will be appreciated.
