I am looking at perhaps discovering what all the fuss is about in trap shooting. Although I love handguns (specifically my 1911), I have never tried a shotgun. The only long guns I have tried are my .22, my husbands Marlin .45 and his M1 Carbine. For me, the first two were enjoyable to shoot and the carbine was ok but I didn't really like it.

I found a few shotguns that were recommended to me at some different local stores. All are 20 gauge semi-automatics. Two of them were Berettas (priced in the $800's) and one was a Tradition (priced at $375).
All of them felt about the same to me and the Tradition was black which I like, compared to the wood Berettas. I am leaning towards the Tradition but the price scares me a bit because it is so much lower than the other two. Has anyone used or heard anything about the Tradition? And if you have used it, what is the recoil like? Should I be scared or am I getting all worked up over nothing? Please help if you can!

Dunno about the Traditions, GWG. Third World made guns are sometimes great, sometimes trash, and oft impossible to get parts or warranty work done. Stick to the US made stuff like a used 1100 or the Italian A line stuff, Beretta and Benelli.

A suggestion, check with the staff at PGC. Their rental guns include 20 gauge 391s, some with reduced LOP, and they sell them off periodically. You could rent one to try out for a pittance, and the sale price is considerably off list.

If you and your SO want to meet me there sometime,I could walk you through Shotgun 101.

HTH....

Let us know when your Doc lets you Dave and Girl and I will meet you there. Don't push it any take your time to rest, besides it'll give me time to teach her all of my bad habits! :D

I'm off restrictions, just supposed to use Common Sense. How about next weekend?

I am shooting a bit today, but this might reach you too late.

We'd try and make it today but we have the rifle shoot up at Hap Baker today. I think next weekend may be out too, I'm pretty sure we have a trip to Virginia planned but I'll check with Girl, she's always good at remembering things I forget! We may be able to do an evening from Wed-Fri though.
