OK, not strictly Black Powder... but since conversions cylinders end up in black powder arms I posted here.
So anyone tried cowboy loads with Trail Boss in their conversion cylinder guns? How's it do?
Can anyone tell me where the line is between "Cowboy Load" and "Too Hot" in terms of CUP? Haven't managed to find that yet.
Seems to me the IMR reccomended loads (though not labeled "Cowboy" on the page I found) seem to yield figures similar to .45 ACP for velocity. I do believe I've actually seen *higher* velocities published for BP and Pyrodex loads!
