I've finally managed to schedule a day for my wife & daughter both to take a Basic Handgun class. This is not the NRA course, but a class more structured on how to handle a handgun & what to do if ever the time comes to have to defend yourself.

I don't believe it will be the last either. I'm going to take the course with them - more to be a moral support & remove any initimidation that they might feel taking this first course, & it will be a family event.

A belt holster is required. It is recommended that it be of a design that allows the gun to be re-holstered with 1 hand & not need a strap to hold the gun in - they specifically say that the nylon field holsters are not desireable as they tend to collapse a little as the weapon is pulled.

To my question: can anyone recommend a reasonably priced holster that fits the description for a J-frame S&W? My wife is training with her 3" M60; my daughter with her 2" M637. The thing is, neither of them is considering CCW belt carry. I have no problem buying quality leather, but I'd rather be economical when it appears it will only be used for a class or 2.

I'd like to go with leather, it needs to allow 1 hand reholstering & they have to be here by the end of this month so it will have to be a "stock" item. I'll also have to buy 1 belt; I have an older gun belt that used to fit me for 1 of them can use but need 1 more. I need to order soon, so any quick recommendations are appreciated!

Thanks....

Fobus makes Kydex belt and paddle holsters for your pistols, for normal hands and lefties.

They will run you about $25 a pop and are often stock items at your local gun shop and many online gunshops.
