Is there any classes that offer tactical training in Houston? I dont want to be the guy doesnt know what do in a stressful situation if something would of happen.

HPD offers a "citzens" course on police procedure which includes "tactical situations" and afterwards you can sign-up to be in the HPD reserves (volunteers) which requires you to do a few hours of communty service every month (but you will have a sort of HPD ID :D ). But the way Houston Police Department is under-staffed..... Don't stand in the wrong line;) .

On a related note, what are the requirements for getting a job in the HPD? School at Texas A&M is getting a bit expensive, so I was considering finding a school in the Big Bad City(TM) and maybe getting a job.

The fighting Pistol class sounds great but I dont have the funds right now to go. The Citizen Police Academy sounds great, since the Academy is like 8 miles from my house and I work next door from there. I hope its on the weekend because it wont interfere with school. Im taking a Law enforcement class.
