Hello,
I just started today with the local police academy. Shooting has always been fun for me but my focus is becoming more on the practical. What training tapes do you guys recommend?
I have owned the older Jim Grover tapes for some time and I like those a lot. Has anyone seen the Blackwater Tape advertised in SWAT Magazine? IS there anything covered there that might not be covered in the older Jim Grover tapes? Are the Thunder Ranch Tapes (also advertised in SWAT) good? How about the ICE tapes?
Thanks,
Shannon

I highly Recommend anything that is put out by ICE and/or Mr. Pincus. I have trained with him, he is top notch, and has imho the most well rounded program of fighting with a firearm. It will probably be a little, or even a lot different than what you might be used too, and it isn't the same ole stuff that you see in all the other books and vids, with different camera angles and host, it is a new way of thinking and training that should be mandatory reading/ viewing of any and every serious student of the arts of defense. he isn't teaching you to shoot, he is teaching you what you need to know to stop a lethal threat as quickly as possible. I could go on and drag this out, suffice to say that the Combat Focused shooting book, and the videos that Rob puts out are well worth your time and money. and if at all possible you should do your best to get in a course with him. The books and vids are great but they are no substitute for real training with the man. I read the book and i was cool with it, it made sense, but then to go and do it, and see what he meant, getting the content of the class, and the mass amounts of info was worth every penny.
