If we take a bolt action 30-06 with a low mounted scope sight and sight it in to be dead on at 100 yds, it will also be dead on at a closer range, around 25 yds. or so. That is due to the fact that the bullet rises to line-of-sight, then above los and finally, back to los at the 100 yd zero.
Now, the .223 being a fast round and, with an ar, the scope on the carry handle is WAY above bore line, will the 223 do the same as above OR will it never make it up to los until it gets to the 100 yd dead on zero? (That would mean the .223 ar would always shoot low (lower than point of aim)at any distance up to 100 yds. That would also mean it has a second zero (like the '06) BUT it would be way out past 100 yds. )
Thanks for the 'word of experienced'.
