Starting life as a Colt Compact model, I used and carried this gun for a long time Niel Keller at Kustom Ballistics did a reliability job on it and changed the trigger. But it was time for an upgrade.

I sent it to Novak first for a fiber optic front sight and a wide notch rear. Then a thumb safety and off to Metaloy for the Hard Chrome finish.

After I got it back I was shooting it for a couple of hundred rounds and after cleaning it I noticed a problem with the thumb safety. Turned out it was the plunger tube coming loose. So I got some parts online and using Ed Brown and W.C. parts had the plunger changed along with the thumb safety (it never was fitted very well) and the slide stop (I bent it once while reassembling and it works but it is still in the back of my mind)

Now I'm happy with it

Transformation 2 and 3 are coming soon

Ric,
That's a fine looking 1911 you have there. Glad you're happy with it, and thanks for sharing it with the rest of us. Makes me want a 1911 again...so I bought one today (Colt CCO Gunsite model).
