I'm planning to head home during thanksgiving. My bolt action is legal in NH and NYC. The catch is I have a bus transfer at Boston South Station. In this circumstance it seems that an unreasonable prosecutor would claim that FOPA doesn't apply. However, MA does have a grace period for registering long guns. Would that apply or is any possession of a rifle by a non-hunter/non-FID owner a crime?
The rifle would obviously be locked and unloaded in a hard side case.
Thanks,
