Hi - I removed the lock from my 1884 TDS and a piece of small broken pin (0.118" diameter, 0.157" long) fell out of the stock along with the lock. The lock seems to have been functioning fine, but this concerned me. I disassembled the lock and determined that the pin had broken off the bridle. I'm not sure what the function of this pin is. Is the pin just to prevent binding of the bridle against other parts when the bridle screws are tightened or does it perform some other function? I put everything back together and the lock work still seems to function fine. Would it be dangerous to fire the gun with this pin missing from the bridle? Could it damage the lock work? Thanks! Dave
