I currently measure charges using my Lee dippers onto my digital scale. I then use the same dipper as a trickler, throwing a kernel or two of powder to get to 0.1 grains. I want to buy a trickler, but I am a little confused as to the operation of it. It appears from reading reviews that some guys hold it in their hand over the pan on the scale and trickle away. It appears that some other guys set it on the edge of the scale to trickle. How does that work? My scale (RCBS Rangemaster 750) doesn't have a lip or anything to sit it on. Do you build a stand that holds the trickler over the pan or something?

Glad you did. I can't imagine holding it in my hand. Or doing without one.

Mine has an adustable height & length so I just put it over to the side of the scale & trickle into the pan.

It is this one & the picture shows how it sets up. I have a balance scale.

The only down side is it gets a little static when you go to pour out the powder after use. Mine doesn't move, it pretty much stays where I put it.
I used a round RCBS & it was about equal all things considered.

I kept reading comments about one model being too light and soldering washers to the bottom. I couldn't figure out why being light would be a problem if you were holding it.

I also kept reading about one-handed operation, which didn't make sense if you were holding it.

It all makes sense!

A lot of reloading stuff is way easier to comprehend if you see it in action.

I use a Redding trickler and like it very much. It is nice and heavy.

It is also the only Redding equipment I own at this time.
