Hi everyone. My father recently gave me an old sporterized 03A3. This rifle has a very nice trigger blade. It is a nice wide grovved pad that clamps onto the real trigger blade using two set screws. I have never seen this before and I have no idea what to call this wonderfull little device. Can someone tell me what this thing is so I can get some for some of my other rifles with thin triggers.

BTY, I apologize if I have butchered the trigger terminology.

It is called a Trigger Shoe.

They are going to be a little hard to find for every gun, as they went way out of style in the 1970's.

They are a little dangerous, because they stick out in the trigger guard so far.

And the screws put divits in the trigger finish, as you noticed.

That is exactly it. In the case of this particular rifle the trigger gaurd is almost an inch thick. Thanks very much.

Be very careful with aftermarket trigger shoes.

I have a former colleague who shot himself in the shoulder after installing one. He put the shoe on an S&W Model 19, reloaded his revolver and then holstered it into an upside down shoulder holster. The trigger shoe extended outside the trigger guard and stroked the action through to a negligent discharge.

He nearly lost his arm.
