I just cleaned and lubed my Glock 19. It happened prior to the cleaning, and after.

I shot 200 rounds 2.5 weeks ago, and my trigger finger was painted black. I cleaned the trigger and it was clean although my trigger finger was pitch black, and cleaned the inside thoroughly (normal solvent and oil). I am using WWB from wal-mart.

I wouldn't be asking, but my friend has a Glock 19 also, and he went and shot today also. His fingers weren't dirty or dusty at all. After 200 rounds, my right index was pitch black, and his was fine.

So it got me thinking that perhaps I missed a corner or a spot cleaning, or something could be wrong. I mean, yes it is a glock, it shot accurate and no jams, but it was enough of a noticeable difference to make me post.

So, whats up with my glock?

let me guess, winchester white box?

The black stuff is inside your magazines most likely...and got on your finger after loading the mags. I'm almost positive.

Your friend was probably using cleaner ammo. This is purely speculation.

I don't know if he did or did not, but I did for the second 100 of my boxes.

Do you both do the same..?

...

Do you save your spent shells, and your friend doesn't..?

Also, does he bring a cleaning cloth with him (half an old pure cotton T-shirt) with him and you don't..?

Or the opposite, you wipe your gun after a shoot, there, and he doesn't.. ?

What comes to mind, for me, is that I pick up what I shoot and save it, and my trigger finger is the main grabber along with the thumb.. Those 2 fingers get real dirty doing this, along with, I wipe my fingers in-between each change of guns, and after any pick-ups, in-between gun caliber changes but, they still look a bit (especially the very tips) dirty until I actually wash them off..

I use Winchester wb 9mm, 40, and 45 fyi.. fairly clean stuff IMO..

Last, maybe your friend just lives a charmed life and you don't.. ;)

Ps.. last thought: Do you both buy your ammo at the same place, as much of Winchesters wb ammo is coming from the Czech Republic, and less is coming out of their ILL, USA plant.. A bit of a difference in quality of the ammo, so see if and where both your ammo was made on the boxes..

I don't own a Glock, but it sounds as if you may be squirting oil, rather than dripping it, when you clean and lube. An opinion, like all others, worth every penny it cost you.

Sounds like excessive oil. It 'Drains' down the trigger

DWARREN- Between Tennessee & Kentucky? Must be a small place you have.

It sounds to me like you had paint on your finger. I don't believe Glock paints anything on their guns so that leads the two main sources of painted fingers: Cans of paint and cans of spraypaint.

My G34 will leave a noticeable amount of powder residue on my trigger finger after firing 200+ rounds. Looks just like powdered graphite. I have owned other Glocks that did not do this enough to be noticeable, but my current one does it every time.
