trigger pull on cz's

The standard trigger pull is a bit long with quite a bit of creep in it. It's preset at about 5-6lbs. The trigger is fully adjustable, so you may be able to take some of the creep out of it by tweaking the screws. I've never tried.

The set trigger is light. Very light. Mine goes off at about 5oz of pressure and nothing I've been able to do with the set trigger adjustment screw has made it any heavier than that. Even the set trigger has a tiny amount of creep in it, but it's so light you barely notice.

EDIT: Had to re-write. I thought we were talking CZ handguns!

The fit/finish of CZ rifles is excellent. If someone made a really nice drop-in replacement trigger at a reasonable price, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

Every CZ rifle I have felt (about 12) has had a horrid trigger. They are soooo creepy that it makes shooting a chore. However, any decent smith can turn that junk trigger into a very smooth and light target trigger. The CZ rifles are good quality, they just need a stock trigger to match.

Jackal you realize it's a SET trigger right? Just push it forward till it clicks and you get an ultra light pull. Not that the trigger isn't nice before you set it (at least on all the CZ's I've shot).

From the factory, mine was about 4.5# unset with some creep and grit. Slight adjustment brought it to 2.75# with miniscule creep and no grit. Set is 15 oz.. I like it!

I wish I could find a way to increase the set trigger weight on mine. I've adjusted the set trigger adjustment screw as far as it will go in both directions and 5 oz is as heavy as I've been able to get it. All it takes is the lightest finger pressure to fire. I will not use the set trigger anywhere but on the range.

The set trigger is crazy! Telekenesis is all it takes for it to go off. Place your finger on it, and just think about pressing the trigger and BANG! Great for target work, but I'd be a bit reluctant to use it for anything else because it's so light.

The regular trigger sucks; it's creepy and gritty.

I wouldn't say it sucks, but it can be creepy, there are a bunch of drop ins for it, I dont' remember the names, but the guys on the cz thread over at rimfirecentral will deff know.

The set trigger is for range use or maybe hunting if you have a steady rest. The unset trigger is more than good enough for anything else. Maybe we can get krochus to post pictures of the groups he shot with his MAS36 it's trigger pull is heavy and creepy with a LOT of takeup and he still shoots sub moa with it. So perhaps the solution isn't a new trigger it's practice.

The single set trigger in CZ rifles can be adjusted so you can get a very good trigger pull without using the set feature. I have done a couple, all you have to do is adjust the 3 (I believe) screws until you get it where you want.
It takes time because you have to adust one then another then the next then go back thru and adjust again until it is where you want it. Make sure to check that it will not fire by being bumped or slammed or when the bolt closes.
Also any compentent smith can work wonders with it.
