hello.

I have a DPMS .308 that I am not happy with the trigger pull on. I think that I have located the area of the trigger that needs 'polishing' to make the heavy trigger pull better, and lighter. I have good mechanical skills and a nice dremel tool with polish and pads, is this something I should try myself? Or should I leave this work to the gunsmith.

I think the trigger pull is 9lbs, but I'm not sure about that, and for me the pull is too 'sticky', with friction and grab/slide action being very annoying for me.

Don't use a dremel tool. Use India stones. Power tools will get you into trouble when working on the sear engagement.

You are probably better off getting an aftermarket trigger.

thanks for the advice.

-I just noticed, Helena Mt., I've been there for weeks at a time visiting my cousins who lived there when I was young. Nice place.

I recommend the Rock River 2 stage trigger worked over by White Oak Armament (John Hollinger). That's what I have on my LR308. The only thing better is the Geissele trigger that costs twice as much.
