Trijicon Accupoint 1-4x with crosshair reticle and dot

Anyone had a chance to play with one of these yet? It looks like it would be a fierce competitor for those who like the Short Dot. 1-4x variable with fine crosshairs in the center (thicker posts on the edges) and an illuminated amber dot dead center that uses the tritium/fiber optic system the Accupoint is known for... all for about $779 with a Larue mount.

2 guys at the shop I go to have this setup on their AR's and they rave about it.. not sure how useful hearsay is to you; but that is the limit of my experience.

I'm interested in one of these, too. Right now, I'm sitting the fence on whether or not to buy one of them or one of the other models with the red or amber triangle. Wish someone in Houston was stocking them.

I've used other scopes with the dot and others with the triangle. I prefer the triangle or chevron for accurate slow fire, but the illuminated dot is good too.

Interesting concept, and I truly love the Trijicon illumination system. But it's not a true 1x, no in-reticule BDC, and the field of view is kind of lousy. For my purposes, I think I'd rather have a Meopta or a Burris XTR.
