Trijicon bible verses

Wow! This is news to me. It's nice to see a company believe in something other than money and have the fortitude to put it on their products. My .02

...Bingo!!! a "religion" of hate that thinks Americans are "devils" does set my ears up and keep my eyes wide open...and may just justify the price of a Trijicon scope that I might see better!!!

I kind of like the idea that Trijicon products inscribed with the Word are sending Haji to meet the 72 Virgins. It would only be better if they dipped 'em in bacon grease before selling 'em.

:D

Best post I've read this year!

That said, does anyone have anything to add that avoids a religious discussion?

not trying to push the button on religion i have mixed feelings on the matter myself but does it really matter that much that they have a bible verse on the product?

i understand its because of the design of the scope and the light references in the verses and i get "the gimmick" but to say i wouldnt buy one of the better products because there is an inscription on it is just silly to me

if schmidt & bender had tomes from some ancient religion that i dont believe in on the side of there scope its still a VERY good scope despite the engraving

its the equivilent of having mickey mouse on your rifle even tho your a bugs bunny fan

you then have to ask yourself does it shoot better? more accurate? just plain work? if you can answer those with yes than the argument is kinda moot isnt it?

Never knew about any religious reference related to trijicon...

What I DO know is that after 15 years of using their ACOG's in one form or another is that they make an excellent product that has served me in places as diverse as Panamanian jungle, Egyptian desert, Afghanistan mountain, and Iraqi city.

They have withstood parachute landings on tarmac, 10+ foot falls from roofs, falls into trenches, and every environmental condition minus artic.

GREAT product...

Apparently Not.

I had a thread about a home invasion robbery, that involved a shotgun wielding assailant who was over powered by the home owner armed only with a knife, closed as 'not gun related'.

I guess racist christian propaganda is now considered "High Road". :banghead:

All religion aside...

there ain't no athiests in foxholes

That's because they're "fighting holes," or, more officially, DFP's (Defensive Fighting Positions) :D

I still think it adds a nice touch to Trijicon products...kind of like LaRue putting "Live Free or Die" on all their forend rail systems.

I'm an Athiest.
And I'm not in a foxhole.
I'm in a FIST vehicle, or calling down artillery.

I understand why non christians wouldnt particularly care for it all that much. I mean if i was looking to buy a new piece of glass or anything FIREARMS RELATED, and it happened to have an inscription reading "Praise Allah and Muhammed his prophet" I would not buy it off basic principle.

You can call me racist or intolerant all you want, but then who is being intolerant?

That said, at the point where I 1)have a firearm to put new optics on and 2) decide to get that new glass, I will be more inclined to buy it from Trijicon, knowing I will be supporting a company who hires brothers in Christ.

Thats my freedom, thanks to the 2ND AMENDMENT. (Trying to keep the thread open....)

But the Trijicon doesn't say Praise God and Jesus his son, it has some numbers and letters that unless one seeks the meaning means nothing.
I too will keep supporting them and don't mind my son carrying that verse on his weapon against our enemys.

Alright did a little internet hunting.

Thank you, wonder9

I think we're being too charitable about the interpretation of those verses.
They may have the word 'light' in them, but they aren't about light.

I find it stupid that some of you are actually dumb enough to not want to buy one of the best optics available because it happens to have a bible verse on it. Seems kind of silly. But hey its your life...

Alohacris, if your best response to the 72 virgin, bacon greased scope is the tried and true " just call them racist", you really need a better argument. It's not very "highroad" of you.

I think this thread is heading for lock-up, fast!

I didn't know they did this.
I am an atheist and can't say I care one way or the other. If anything I find it cool that they use verses that have to do with light.

I like it. Doesn't mean I'm gonna go out and buy a trijicon, because I'm a Christian, but I like it none the less. Besides if a little dremel work could put anything you want on your scope...
