I bought this sight before I had done a lot of research, came across it for an excellent price (price checking the web via smartphone is handy).
I fiddled with the sight and mounted it, and did a little shooting before I searched around for some reviews.
I am thrilled with the sight for what I paid. The criticisms about washout from a dark shooting position into a brightly lit target area are valid, but I have only found it to be a problem when I was actively trying to make it washout. Such as in my house with no lights on, and aiming at a patch of the very white gravel road out front. I have it mounted on a carry handle mount, and found that I can use the iron sights in such situations just fine.
Did some longer range shooting with it(testing if I could still use the irons with the sight in place), and found that with the way the mount partly intrudes into the plane of the iron sights, it shifted my POI down about a foot at 100 yards with the irons. I'm sure it has something to do with the way my eye perceives the center of the rear aperture.
Aside from when I was looking for problems with it that were outlined in other reviews, I find the sight to be excellent, solid and VERY fast for shooting targets from 5 to 200 yards. I shoot tighter groups at 250 with irons (the most distance I have access to close to home) but I am much much faster with the Reflex. It is a huge improvement in the dark, I don't have any trouble picking up the reticle against something illuminated with my surefire, and compared to my previous situation of irons only, it is so much superior as to be no contest. Shooting in bright daylight, overcast conditions, and gradually darker conditions, the sight functions superbly. I have no trouble making hits on steel at any range available to me.
I have the Reflex II RX06, with the 12.5 MOA triangle. I have zeroed the rifle so that I use the tip of the triangle for aiming. I find that it allows perfectly adequate precision. I don't have both for a comparison, but would wager that I would prefer it to a dot reticle in the same optic.
I know this has been beaten to death, and the battery life of an aimpoint is so good that it is borderline stupid to argue about, but I like the fact that I don't depend on batteries for my dot optic. If it makes any aimpoint fans feel any better, if they had been sitting side by side and both for sale for $200, I would have bought both.
I like it far better than any eotechs that I have seen just because that reticle is too busy for my taste.
I have a cheap camera and the pictures don't really do the sight picture justice, for how well it works with both eyes open. I was doing some shooting this afternoon and almost giggling.
