Alaska, and no I do not reside in an igloo.
I'm thinking of getting one of these, hearing as they're used by the Marines, don't require batteries, and they are reported to perform exceptionally well. A couple questions I have first though. (Please forgive me, I am very new to the optics and scopes area of rifles).

- Is the TA31RCO able to be easily used (switched between) both the M4-styled 5.56 rifles and the M16-styled 5.56 rifles? I'd assume barrel length might play a minor or major factor in targeting with the scope, as more barrel length seems to equal greater range. I was thinking it might be off-beat with the set meter targeting ranges in the ACOG (the M4 barrel is 14.5" or 16" and the M16 is 20"). Or will this not make a difference at all?

- Is the TA31RCO only in use with the Marines, or does the Army use them as well? If not, does anyone know which ACOG the Army uses and how it may compare to the TA31RCO?

Thanks very much for your time.

The RCO comes in a 20" version and 14.5" version because the difference in muzzle velocity affects the point of impact. Practically, it isn't a huge difference though - especially under 300m.

I know the Army uses the TA01NSN and TA31F (which is the predecessor of the TA31RCO and very similar). Other than that, I couldn't say.
