I read not long ago that there are a variety of brass that can be trimmed to form 308 cases - for example, .243, .270, 7x57, .30-06, etc. Here is the article:

I've never done that - I just reload 308 brass. But it's nice to have the option. I have hunting friends who've offered me brass in the past (30-06, 270) and I've declined out of ignorance because I don't shoot those calibers.
I'm wondering if there are any calibers that could be trimmed down to form 223/5.56?
