So, tell me do I need a special bullet for using triple 7 powder,? Can I use powder coated bullets. Do I need a grease wad,and card wad. Shot several hundred in my 45/70 but never in revolver. So school me on this please. I hear triple 7 is cleaner and less fouling ?

Be advised that I have a container of Triple 777 FFFG that has a red warning on it to NOT use it in cartridges. I don't know if that warning is just for FFFG, or any Triple 777. I don't use Triple 777 myself.

I've never used T7 but I don't see why you couldn't use it with powder coated bullets without a card or wad.

I've used it 45/70 cases with no ill effects, it doesn't like being compressed. If you fill the case to the bottom of the bullet when it's seated you will be fine.

I've got a couple of plastic cans of 777 still lying around. I haven't shot it in some time but what was nice is it was AVAILABLE at the local Gander Mountain whereas BP was not. It doesn't like to be compressed which is opposite of BP. It had a "greasy" residue which seems to provide some level of lube (if you want to call it that...LOL). It does clean up very easy with water. I never reloaded cartridges with it but follow the guidance and you'll be fine. upload_2022-2-15_22-6-42.png

I use APP and Alliant Black MZ which was made by APP. It and Triple Seven do not require a “black powder compatible” lube. Coated bullets are fine, too.
