Came across this holster while cruising the net looking for a multi position holster for my 1911. The reviews on Cabela's seemed to go everywhere. So any of you guys have any experience with this holster especially with the 1911? Or does anyone have another reccomendation for multi position holster that can do small of back, cross draw, and strong side?
Here is the link to the holster on Cabela's. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat602007-cat601050&id=0024357226469a&navCount=1&podId=0024357&parentId=cat601050&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IK&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601233&hasJS=true

I've limited experience with Triple K, and none with that holster.

That said, I've found 'multi-position' holsters to be aggravating in general. It's impossible (IMHO) to make a holster that can go from crossdraw to strongside and NOT have it flailing about in at least one of the positions.

Of course, YMMV.

I've examined Triple K holsters, but not that one. They strike me as being suitable for open carry or very casual concealment, not much more. "Generic" fit holsters cause more finish wear on a handgun than one shaped and molded to fit it. Also, in general terms, anything made for multiple functions is not particularly good at any one function, or any of them, period.

I agree. Custom molded holsters aren't all that expensive, and changing your carry position isn't a big concern for me.
I just invested in a really nice IWB strong-side holster, and declared success.

I do know a lot of OC people who like Triple K, for whatever that's worth.

Generally, TripleK across the board is at a quality level of "this will work while I wait for my Kramer, Sparks, Allessi" sort of thing.

I've had a few of thier rigs, and the service life seems to be running from a year to a year and a half.
