Found a 20ga for $240 used. Debating on picking it up for a rabbit gun but that price is scaring me away. Reviews seem hit and miss like anything else.

What I'm seeing is review wise not that mixed but almost entirely positive. Tristar is supposedly one of the better shotgun manufacturers in Turkey. The recommendation I've seen the most is do a complete clean before shooting it to clear out all the packing grease. It would appear not doing so leads to most of the reported issues. Some may need a break-in period running high powered ammo before moving to lighter trap loads, etc.

I saw lots of fail to eject posts, the charging handle flying off, light loads aren’t a concern cause it will only see high brass #4/5. I fat fingered the post its $250 not $240 still a steal imo. $279 out the door.

Action was clean as a whistle as well. Just wondering if it was sold due to being a headache. $450 i can get the viper which is its next level but this would be only used for rabbit and pheasant hunting.

I think the action on the Raptor is like the Weatherby SA-08 like I have . I don’t like the way you have to load it and unload it . If you pull the trigger after you unload it to uncock the hammer , you have to take the safety off of pull the bolt back . When you unload it you have to hit the magazine release and pull the bolt back twice to eject the shells in the magazine tube . I like the Viper action better , it doesn’t have that magazine release . That is a good price on it and it would be hard to pass up at that price .

It just occurred to me, forgot to ask if it's a Viper G2 or not. If not then all I looked at were the G2s so that might account for the discrepancy in our viewing results. So basically you take a chance or you pass it up, no one can tell you what to do. I'll amend what I first said that if it were the Viper G2 at that price I'd take it in a heartbeat.......

Here's Pew Pew's "best Turkish shotguns" review. The G2 is on their list but then so is that Charles Daily (CD). It would appear CD only imports shotguns, doesn't manufacture them. Probably why I'm seeing them listed in the "best of" categories from many respected gun related e-mags. Not that long ago I would never had even touched a CD shotgun, they were that hit and miss.

I initially posted it was a viper but the tag said raptor viper and he tried telling me its the same gun. Obviously its not so figured do some extra research.

Tristar offers a semi auto .410 that is supposed to be a big hit with the T.S.S Crowd , their .410 has screw in chokes for use with the hard tungsten shot . Tristar offers a semi auto 28 ga. and 16 ga. also. Most of what I've had heard is positive , though I don't own one.
I've heard stories of people goose hunting with a .410 with T.S.S handloads , specifically the Tristar .410 has been mentioned.

I picked one up for the 4-H trap program when I was a Leader. It was a great loaner gun for kids who showed up with Dad's 1100 but that was too big for them. I paid $100 more than that new.
They are basically a Beretta A303 clone, and are a good value.

Now you guys have me thinking i need to take a chance on it. It is clean as a whistle inside and out. I just need a beater rabbit gun is all. I can get a brand new Viper G2 for $180 more or a Stoeger 3020 for double the price of the Raptor.

I don’t like the action on the Raptor is the only reason . I have a Weatherby that has the same action . It is just different than anything that I have , with the magazine release .

My G2 Silver. I have the same guns in 12, 20 & 28ga. Very Very similar to my A400 gas system.
